For a new house slab, yes — an engineer’s specification is required and we work directly with your engineer. For garage slabs and shed bases, engineering is typically not required unless the site has unusual conditions such as reactive clay or significant slope.
A waffle pod slab uses polystyrene pods to reduce concrete usage while maintaining strength — it’s the most common and cost-effective residential option. A raft slab is solid and poured directly on prepared ground, used on reactive soils or where an engineer specifies it.
