The Service

What Goes Into
A Concrete Slab

A concrete slab is the foundation everything else is built on — so we make sure it’s done right from day one. Every slab is formed to engineer’s specification, with correct reinforcement, proper drainage falls, and a finish that’s ready for whatever goes on top.

We work closely with builders, engineers and certifiers across the Peninsula — or we can manage the full process end to end for owner-builder projects.

Slab Types

Waffle Pod Slab

The most common residential slab. Polystyrene pods reduce concrete usage while maintaining structural integrity. Suited to most Peninsula soil conditions.

Raft Slab

A solid reinforced slab poured directly on prepared ground. Used on reactive soils, sloping blocks or where engineer specification requires it.

Garage & Shed Slabs

Thickened-edge slabs for garages, sheds and outbuildings. Properly formed with drainage falls and finish suited to vehicle traffic.

Alfresco & Extension Slabs

Slabs for covered outdoor areas, extensions and additions. Matched in level and finish to your existing structure.

How It Works

From Quote To Pour Day

01

Free Quote

We visit the site, measure up and assess ground conditions. You get a fixed-price written quote — no vague estimates.

02

Planning & Permits

We coordinate with your builder or engineer. Any permits or certifications sorted before work starts.

03

Site Prep

Subgrade excavated, graded and compacted. Formwork set to level. Vapour barrier and reinforcement placed to spec.

04

The Pour

Concrete pumped or trucked in. We screed, float and finish the surface to the specified level and texture.

05

Cure & Hand Over

Curing compound applied. Site cleaned up and handed over once the slab reaches full working strength.

FAQs

Common Questions

Most residential slabs are poured in a single day. Site preparation — excavation, formwork and reinforcement — typically takes 1–2 days beforehand. The slab then needs a minimum of 7 days curing before it can be built on.
For a new house slab, yes — an engineer’s specification is required and we work directly with your engineer. For garage slabs and shed bases, engineering is typically not required unless the site has unusual conditions such as reactive clay or significant slope.
A waffle pod slab uses polystyrene pods to reduce concrete usage while maintaining strength — it’s the most common and cost-effective residential option. A raft slab is solid and poured directly on prepared ground, used on reactive soils or where an engineer specifies it.
Pricing depends on size, thickness, slab type and site conditions. We provide fixed written quotes after a site visit so you know exactly what you’re paying before we start. Contact us for a free quote.
